Would you mind introducing yourself? My name is Sarah Arnould, I'm 30 years old. I discovered photography during my very first trip to Vietnam, back in 2009. I am now a professional photographer, and have been since 2014!
Where are you from, and where do you currently live? I am from Bordeaux, in the south-west of France, where I currently live :)
How would you describe your style of photography? It's very hard to describe my photographic style! I would say that I am rather shy, but very focused on adventure, nature, and the elements. I try to capture as many natural colours as possible in each of my images.

When did you first fall in love with taking photos? The first time was in Vietnam. I slept on a boat in Ha Long Bay. I woke up early to enjoy this fabulous place during the sunrise, just before we headed back to the coast. I was alone, and there was not a sound. There was just this lady, with her conical hat, on her boat singing while going to the floating market not far from there. I took a picture. She was pretty successful and that's when I had the click.
Do you have a favourite photography related memory, whether it be in front or behind the camera? One of my favourite photography related memories was when I was on a boat filled with scientists struggling against overfishing and travelling to many different seas around the world to conduct marine studies. There we were in the North Sea. I was quite agitated and my seasickness was very present. I took this picture through a porthole. The sea was dark black and battered by the rain. I stayed for a few moments in front of this finally soothing show.
Who/What inspires you to take these wonderful photographs? There are certainly many different photographers who inspire me, but what inspires me most is the world around me. The nature, the bad weather, the light, the present moment.
What kind of camera do you use, and what is your editing process like? I use a Canon 6D and edit in Lightroom, using VSCO film presets.
What are some of your passions/hobbies other than photography? My other passion is to travel and explore everywhere I can! I also love cooking and reading novels.
Who are some of your favourite photographers? My favourite photographers are Bernard Plossu, Sebastiao Salgado and Martin Parr.
Are there any photographers here on Instagram that you love and wish more people knew about? There sure are! Alex Strohl, Carnet de Traverse (both who are very inspiring) Pierre David (a good friend of mine) Doug Guillot (my boyfriend 😊) Laetitia Modine (a really good friend as well), Sunrise Over Sea, and Elle May.
Which time of year is your favourite for taking photographs? I prefer winter and bad weather.
Do you have any photography related plans for this summer that you would like to share? I have not planned anything for this summer yet! Everything always gets decided at the last moment!
What would be your number one dream destination for a photography adventure? SCOTLAND without hesitation.
