Would you mind introducing yourself? Hey! My name is Kenzie Meeker, and I am a photographer based out of Northwest Arkansas! I grew up in Pensacola Florida and moved to Arkansas in 8th grade.

How would you describe your style of photography? I would describe my work as a mix of fine art travel and lifestyle photography. I am not on the road full time... (yet), so I really have to discipline myself to continue to grow and shoot wherever I am! But I absolutely thrive when I am on the road; I feel completely free!
When did you first fall in love with taking photos? I first fell in love with photography after I got my first point-and-shoot camera during my senior year of high school. In fact, I loved it so much, that I decided to pursue it as a career and got my degree in Photography at John Brown University.
Do you have a favourite photography related memory, whether it be in front or behind the camera? One of my favourite memories was when I was about a week into my two-week road trip to the Pacific Northwest with some friends. We woke up early, and spent a full day exploring Oregon, and went back to our hotel room exhausted from the day. It was incredibly tempting for us to stay in that evening, and just take a little time to regroup knowing we had a full day of driving the next day, but instead, I pulled everyone out of bed and we went to Ecola State Park. It was without a doubt one of the greatest views of the whole trip. To see the Pacific Ocean during golden hour was one of the most breathtaking things I’ve ever had to experience to capture! It was so satisfying that we were able to push through our exhaustion to take some incredible photographs.
Who/What inspires your photography? I think just knowing that I haven’t yet taken my best photograph is what inspires me. I’m always looking forward to my next trip and challenging myself to continue to shoot in-between trips.
Camera & Editing Process? I recently upgraded to a Canon EOS R, but have done all my work up until then on a Canon T5I! I always edit in Raw first, and then take my pictures through a mixture of presets I have made in Lightroom.
Are there any tips you would like to give to anyone out there who would love to create similar style photos to yours? My advice would just be to shoot all of the time!! There is definitely a place for learning and studying photography, but in the end, you have to be willing to get out there to shoot and practice your art.
Who are some of your favourite photographers? I truly became inspired when I took History of Photography in college. I studied and fell in love with the work of Stephen Shore, William Eggleston, and Fred Herzog. Their use of colour and ability to capture the seemingly mundane in a beautiful way has helped me solidify my style of photography and will inspire me for years to come!
Are there any photographers here on Instagram that you wish more people knew about? Definitely @albright_andrew! Every photo he posts is so on point and inspiring! Definitely keep an eye out for his work!
What would be your number one dream destination for a photography adventure? My dream destination right now would have to be New Zealand. I think I would thrive artistically and photographically there! Getting the opportunity to photograph such a beautiful landscape and such a chill culture would be an absolute dream for me!
Which time of year is your favourite for taking photographs? I honestly love to shoot throughout the year! Each new season and place I visit brings a new perspective and light.
The coolest place you've ever been? This is such a hard question because I have fallen in love with sooo many places. BUT, if I had to choose one place, I would have to say Glacier National Park in Montana. It was the most mind-blowing place I have ever been! Every turn going up the infamous Going-to-the-Sun Road offered a completely new view and aesthetic. I was in awe every second of that day!
Do you have any upcoming photography trips/sessions that you would like to share? In the next month or so, I am going to be exploring more of Tennessee and the Carolinas, and with luck, will hopefully be relocating to one of those states!! I am very excited to start exploring the East Coast.
