Would you mind introducing yourself? Hello, My name is Ivan Kosovan, and I’m 20 years old. I was born in Chisinau, Moldova, but I moved to Vancouver, Wa when I was only 9 months old. What I have been shooting for 4 years now is lifestyle/landscape photos because I have to say it tells the best story and its what I’ve grown to love.

When did you first fall in love with taking photos? It's a funny story actually, I mean I have always been into photography ever since I can remember. My parents actually hired a personal photographer/videography to document our life back in Moldova. And I have always been around cameras. But what really got me into photography was I bought my dad a Sony camera for Christmas because I thought he would like it. He never used it so I took it for myself and just started experimenting and shooting everything, and since I was in homeschool I had the time. And now I’m here.
Who/What inspires your photography? There are a lot of people and places that inspire me. But who inspires me I have to say is Forrest Mankins. His photos and style are what keep me pushing myself to be better, to explore more, and enjoy life in the most beautiful of places.
Camera & Editing Process? My camera setup is pretty simple. I use a Canon 5d Mark ii with a Sigma 24mm art lens and a Tamron 75-300. And then I have three 35mm film camera’s. My editing style as you can see is full of colour and brightness. I really just try to keep it as simple and possible and really pull you in as if you were there.
Are there any tips you would like to give to anyone out there who would love to create similar style photos to yours? Just short and simple. Shoot anything and everything because eventually you’ll find your style and you will grow.
Which time of year is your favourite for taking photographs? I have to say all seasons are amazing. But I have to say summer is my favourite. Waking up early for a sunrise with a coffee, having all day to swim and cook some lunch, making a fire and waiting for that sunset. And capturing all that throughout the day is what really gets me excited for summer!
The coolest place you've ever been? I have to say my favourite place has to be Zion National Park. All those mountains, the river, warm weather, and kind people. It was just such a great experience overall and I can't wait to be back there.
