Your photos have such a lovely feel to them! Is there any specific way you would describe your style of photography? I pay specific attention to colours and light when I’m taking photos. When possible, I also try and have a soft and interesting bokeh.
When did you first fall in love with taking photos? I got my first camera when I was 8 as a Christmas present. The problem was that it was a film camera and I was taking so many pictures that my parents stopped buying new rolls!
Do you have a favourite photography related memory, whether it be in front or behind the camera? I took pictures at my sister’s wedding. I used to be more into landscapes or cityscapes, but that day I realized how powerful and moving portraits can be.
What inspires you to take these wonderful photographs? Everything that surrounds me, but mostly natural elements or magical viewpoints.
What kind of camera do you use? A full-frame mirrorless camera, the first of the Sony Alpha series: the A7.
What is your editing process like? I usually adjust the contrast and exposition a bit and then sometimes change the colours with a phone app.
Are there any tips you would like to give for anyone out there who would love to create similar style photos to yours? I think my best advice would be to shoot in raw. It is a lot easier to edit the lightning and contrast afterwards, and most importantly, I feel like the colours are a lot more realistic and lively than when shooting in jpeg. Another tip would be to use prime lenses for two main reasons. First, they are usually more luminous than zoom lenses. Also, not being able to zoom in forces you to look for the perfect spot and angle, so you’ll be more creative and your pictures more original.
What are some of your passions/hobbies other than photography? I love to paint, especially portraits. My art-related account is @bleu.cha.
Do you have any photography related plans for this summer that you would like to share? If I can save enough money, I might do a road trip around Italy, one of the most photogenic European countries, in my opinion.
Who are some of your favourite photographers? I love Natacha Birds (@natachabirds) and the stories she tells, the atmosphere of Marta Bevacqua’s photographs (@martabevacqua) and the lonely houses of Sejkko Eri (@sejkko).
Are there any photographers here on Instagram that you love and wish more people knew about? @nofsys & @jesuisjovana.
What would be your number one dream destination for a photography adventure? The US, mostly for the variety of its natural sceneries.
Which time of year is your favourite for taking photographs? Autumn for its warm tones and winter for its unique light. Oddly as it might sound, summer is my least favourite time of year to take photos because it can be too sunny, especially here in Majorca, and it makes it hard to take pictures that are not overexposed.
Do you have any upcoming photography trips/sessions planned that you would like to share? Soon I’ll take pictures at a friend’s wedding. It’ll take place in an amazing venue, akin to a castle. I’m looking forward to it!
